Tuesday June 23, 2009:  Clinton Baker to take 13th out of 24 cars!

The hard work paid off as Clinton Baker and the crew hit the track for the first race with the new car placing 13th out of 24.  Clinton Baker hung in the top 15 with big name boys and top notch cars as this weekend was a big $5,000 to win race at Caraway Speedway (www.carawayspeedway.com) Starting towards the rear of the field, Clinton worked his way through the pack on the short track to 13th 200 laps later.  Even so, there is much work to be done to work up to the front row.

“The plan is to run as many races as we can and as many tracks as we can, all while promoting our sponsors as much as possible,” stated Clinton Baker.  Clinton plans on running Hickory Speedway, Greenville Pickens and even Alabama in the next couple of weeks.  With the 4th of July holiday coming up, Clinton does not plan on running this weekend, but a last minute change may occur.

Wednesday June 17, 2009:  FOR IMMEDIATE REALEASE:  Clinton Baker set to run new feature division at Caraway Speedway

After a very interesting couple of weeks Clinton Baker and the crew are set to go back racing.  Clinton Baker and the crew have been considering their options and contemplating their next big move.  The final decision had been reached to purchase a Late Model Stock Car and run Caraway Speedway on Saturday nights.  Caraway Speedway will be the crew’s main track for the time being.  Their feature division draws 24 cars and big names to the track.  This is a great opportunity for Clinton as well as our sponsors.

A purchase of a Late Model Stock Car gives Clinton Baker and the crew more options to travel to numerous tracks outside this area.  Prospective tracks include:  Hickory, Tri-County and even Martinsville.  This will give our sponsors more exposure beyond just the Concord area.

The car is now ready to go and hit the track for the first time during practice last Friday.  It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Clinton smile when he climbed out of the Uncle Buck’s 04 machine, so it was pretty obvious Clinton was enjoying the new ride.

Clinton Baker will practice the car again this Thursday at Caraway Speedway and is set to race it for the first time this Saturday at Caraway Speedway (www.carawayspeedway.com).  This is a $5,000 to win race, so we expect a large turnout.

Hope to see you at the races!

May 9th, 2009:  Clinton Baker moves up to fourth in points!
After another long week of working hard on the car, Clinton Baker finished fourth Saturday night.  This puts him fourth in the point standings at Concord Speedway.  Despite the slippery track and rain delays, Clinton Baker had a pretty good night.  Adjustment were made the made the car faster.  “As long as we get faster every week, that’s all we can ask for.  We’re trying and we’re making progress.  That’s a good thing.  It’s a new car so it’s going to take some time to get it on point, but it’ll all be worth it!” stated Clinton Baker.  Due to the NASCAR races coming up, Clinton Baker’s next race will be Saturday May 23rd.  Hope to see you there!

April 18th, 2009:  Clinton Baker holds onto 6th in points!

After much hard work this week getting the car set-up again for racing this weekend, Clinton Baker had another rough weekend.  This weekend’s big 150 lap race drew more cars, more fans and more obstacles for the team.  A big race makes it harder to predict how the car will change throughout the race.  A big race also makes it harder to finish at all without mechanical failure or damage.  Luckily this week, Clinton Baker not only finished without damage, but remained 6th in points after finishing 7th this weekend.  Concord Speedway is not racing for the next two weekends, which gives the team plenty of time to regroup for the next big 100 lap race on May 9th.  Hope to see you at the races!

April 11th, 2009:  Clinton Baker takes top 5 finish!

After many struggles for Clinton Baker and the crew for the first race on Saturday April 11th, 2009, Clinton Baker holds on strong to take a top 5 finish.  During the first practice, Clinton Baker broke the rear end causes the crew to work hard to get the car ready for the race.  Unable to qualify, Clinton Baker started in the rear.

If the day wasn't hard enough on Clinton Baker, he was spun around by the #58 car of Cody Brake.  Cody had blown a tire when he was side by side with Clinton causing Clinton to get spun around.  Clinton held the wheel and managed to keep control of the car.  Nothing was damaged.

60 laps later, Clinton Baker finished 5th for the night.  "We learned a lot about the car this weekend.  We also learned there is a lot of work that needs to be done this week to get ready for next week,"  stated Clinton Baker.

Saturday was also Kid's Night at the track.  There was quite a turn out as the kids always love to ride in the race cars.  Clinton Baker and crew passed out t-shirts, candy, whistles, balloons, coupons and checkered flags.
